PlayStation Plus free RPG has one of the biggest open worlds we've ever explored

PlayStation Plus free RPG has one of the biggest open worlds we've ever explored

PlayStation Plus users can play one of the biggest open-world games ever made, at no additional cost

We all know where this is going, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available via PlayStation Plus and it’s huge, but did you ever realise just how big it’s open-world actually is?

When all is said and done there’ll only be a handful of games worthy of the title “masterpeice,” with the likes of Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt taking some of the top spots.

WIth the latter game now being available for those subscribed to PlayStation Plus, it allows even more people to try the game for the first time, or long-time fans replaying it for the umpteenth time.

But have you stopped and realised just how big the world of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt actually is?

CD Projekt Red’s best game so far appeared in a YouTube video by RED SIDE, comparing the biggest open-worlds in gaming.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt appears around halfway into the video, with a map size of 135km squared.

This places the game above such games as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, a game many would consider to be too big, especially when you’re having to sail across the ocean for several minutes at a time.

Games with even bigger maps included MMO titles like World Of Warcraft, as well as The Crew, Just Cause 3 and Minecraft, with the top spot belonging to No Man’s Sky.

Nevertheless it’s still an impressive feat for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to be bigger than some of Ubisoft’s open-world titles.

You’ll soon be able to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in its entirety and at no additional cost via PlayStation Plus.

This only applies to those subscribed to the Extra and Premium tier, with the title joining the library tomorrow, 20 August.
