Wolverine has remained a key figure in the superhero genre for many years with Hugh Jackman flying the flag for the claw-wielding mutant.
First appearing in 2000’s X-Men, this marked the beginning of Jackman’s iconic portrayal of Wolverine and it was not long before he went on to star in nine more movies, including Logan and more recently, Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024.

However, in 2017’s Logan, it was revealed that Jackman’s Wolverine was the anchor to the Deadpool/X-Men Universe and as a result, his tragic death marked the end of the timeline but that was not before he passed the mantle on to Laura, otherwise known as X-23.

Portrayed by actress Dafne Keen, X-23 was believed for years to be the clone and adoptive daughter of Wolverine, but it was later revealed that was in fact his biological daughter.
That being said, we first saw Keen take on the role of X-23 in Logan and more recently, she reprised her role as Laura Kinney in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Now it seems as though Keen is eager to continue playing Wolverine forever, according to an interview with Empire Magazine.
"I would 100% do this for the rest of my life,” she told them.

For once, it seems as though hardcore fans are on board with this idea and they recently took to r/MarvelatFox to share their thoughts.
“I’m down for it. Laura/ X-23 is such a cool character in the comics and I think Dafne is perfect”, user Evawillia03 said.
User Jarvis-Savoni agreed, adding: “I’m totally fine with that. Marvel, pay the young woman.”
For user BlakeWho, they seem to really be a fan of Laura.

“I'd rather see her as the MCU Wolverine than have Logan back again,” they admitted.
At the time of writing, there was originally a plan for a standalone movie dedicated to X-23 but it was seemingly scrapped by Disney.
Although this is heartbreaking news, we at least know that Keen will be returning if the project ever gets picked up again and fans are happy about that at least.
