The PlayStation Plus Essential free games for November 2023 have been officially confirmed, and it's a pretty solid month for subscribers.
It's been a year of ups and downs for PlayStation Plus so far this year. A hefty price increase went down like a fart in a lift, and many of the free games released since have done little to justify paying more, in the eyes of subscribers at least. October 2023's free games - The Callisto Protocol, Farming Simulator 22, and Weird West - weren't the most popular. Will November prove to be a step up?
Well, that's all subjective of course, but we can tell you what PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers will be downloading from 7 November. The free games are: Mafia II: Definitive Edition, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, and Dragon Ball: The Breakers.

I'll be honest, I can't see people making much of a song and dance about how great this month is. Indeed, the reactions thus far have been... not great.
"What an awful showing after putting the prices up," one Twitter user complained.
Another added: "Well, that's another month of not adding a single game to my collection. Two terrible months in a row."
"I can't remember the last time I instantly played a monthly game. I'll just add these to the library and never play them as usual," a third wrote.

In the interests of balance I did attempt to dig out a few positive reactions to the November 2023 free games, but have so been unsuccessful in this endeavour. At their kindest people are referring to this month as the very definition of "okay" which, after a price increase, probably isn't quite good enough.
Let's hope December 2023 is a little better, shall we? After October and November I'm not inclined to hold my breath though.
