A sequel to a beloved 2019 action-adventure game has just been announced, and according to the developers, it will be dropping on PlayStation Plus on the first day it releases.
FBC: Firebreak a "three-player cooperative multiplayer FPS" from developer Remedy Entertainment and will serve as the sequel to their critically lauded game Control. I guess that also sort of makes it a sequel to Alan Wake 2 now that I think about it.
Alongside the press release of its announcement on Remedy Entertainment’s website, the developer also dropped a trailer for FBC: Firebreak yesterday.

Any of you ever play the multiplayer mode in BioShock 2? Because the trailer for FBC: Firebreak heavily reminds me of it for some reason.
Take a look at the game's reveal trailer below.
The game will see you putting down “otherworldly forces” as the Bureau headquarters featured in Control “faces a deadly and prolonged siege”. Alongside two other players, you’ll take on the role of “Firebreak”, a response unit in charge of clearing up the Bureau’s mistakes.

FBC: Firebreak will be the first self-published title Remedy Entertainment has ever worked on, and although they describe it as a “mid-priced” title, I don’t think the majority of people reading this are going to have to worry about how much it’ll cost.
That’s because it’s coming to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue as soon as it drops, available for both Extra and Premium subscribers.
It’ll also be coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one too, so basically the only people who will probably have to end up buying it are the ones that’ll want to play it on PC.
There’s no exact release date, although Remedy Entertainment has said that it’ll be dropping sometime in the first half of 2025. But don’t worry if you’re not a fan of FPS games, Control fans. A true sequel, Control 2, is still in development.
