One of the greatest video games of all time is about to become free, as long as you subscribe to PlayStation Plus, that is.
It’s fair to say that Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto series is one of the greatest of all time and each new release is always a massive event for the video game industry. For example, GTA VI might just be the most highly anticipated video game ever.

There are so many great games to choose from in the iconic series from Rockstar Games, and each fan might give you a different answer as to which is the best in the series. Depending on the day, I could easily flip between GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas or GTA V and none of those would be an incorrect answer.

That being said, the topic of today’s discussion is GTA: San Andreas, a game that was originally released in 2004 for the PlayStation 2, before arriving on other platforms in the years that followed. Upon its release, GTA: San Andreas was met with rave reviews worldwide and garnered a score of 95 on the aggregate website Metacritic earning the “Must-Play” accolade.
This week, in celebration of the latest Days of Play event, Sony announced an “oversized” 17 games coming to PS Plus in June 2024. What’s more, Days of Play will bring a whole host of discounts on the PlayStation Store as well as with select retailers which also includes massive discounts for existing members of the PS Plus subscription service.
As for the aforementioned GTA: San Andreas, it’s the remastered version coming to PS Plus with the Definitive Edition, which will be available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers on 7 June.
What’s more, other classic titles are arriving on 11 June namely, Tomb Raider Legend, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus with all three being included in the updated Classics Catalogue.
