I’m usually pretty forgiving when it comes to the latest PlayStation Plus additions.
I’m of the opinion that you can usually find a hidden gem to enjoy even if, on the surface, there’s not exactly a game you were hoping to see added.
I’ll admit though, I’m finding it hard to think that way when it comes to April’s essential tier offerings which, as much as it pains me to say it, are pretty mid.

On 1 April, PlayStation Plus subscribers will gain access to RoboCop: Rogue City, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker's Memory, three games which all launched with mixed review scores.
This is why I recommend you subscribe to the extra tier if finances allow.
There’s heaps more choice so you’re never left feeling disappointed or short-changed.
If you’re looking for an extra tier game that you can sink hours into, look no further than Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

After all, the franchise is all the rage again following the colossal success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
You can take a look at Assassin's Creed Shadows in action below.
While Assassin’s Creed Shadows has proved popular with long-time fans, it’s also drafted in many first-time players.

With that in mind, you may be wondering which AC adventure to playthrough next, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a fantastic shout.
“What are the longest games that I can put a lot of hours into?” asked one subscriber.
“Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (base game can take 100+ hours.),” replied RealGTalkin.
“Came here to say AC Odyssey,” added dreyno3.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey definitely leans into the open-world RPG formula; it’s not a contained stealth-based entry like, say, Mirage.
As such, completionists can expect to spend around 145 hours in the game according to HowLongToBeat.
The main story sits at around 45.5 hours, while main and side quests are around the 85 hours mark.
It’s a big undertaking, but one worth embarking on if you ask me.
