Sometimes amidst the release of some chart-topping game releases, it is easy for one to slip under the radar, despite being a banger itself.

That was definitely the case for PlayStation exclusive Days Gone which first released back in 2019 to quite the quiet fanfare.

Check out the PC trailer for Days Gone below!

Since its PC port arrived in 2021, the action-adventure title by Bend Studio has received a bit of traction and with rumours of a potential remaster on the way, gamers are wondering what is so special about this hidden gem.

Telling the story of Deacon St. John, a drifter and bounty hunter trying to survive in a post pandemic America, the story follows him as he searches for a reason to live in a broken world.

As PlayStation exclusives go, Days Gone remains a bit of an underdog but now that it is free for PlayStation Plus extra members, it seems gamers are arriving to try it out.

Days Gone was also recently mentioned in a post over on r/PlayStationPlus which saw one user ask for recommendations for “slow grind/open world games”.

“I usually play sports games but feeling a little bit of a lull for those, so now I’m looking for an open world/slow grind/slow progression type game,” they wrote.

“I loved GTA and RDR and the huge amount of flexibility & exploration of the open world that they allow, so I am looking for something along those lines.”

With almost 100 comments soon flooding in, it seems as though Days Gone was mentioned repeatedly.

“I've been hooked on Days Gone lately. Very underappreciated IMHO,” one comment read.

Despite Days Gone being considered a “failure” by some of the gaming community, the single player title still currently sits at a 8.4 user score on Metacritic which marks it as “generally favourable”.

With no sequel on the way, this standalone title is perfect for those who want an anxiety-inducing open-world experience.
