Nowadays, it’s especially important to save money whenever we can amidst the seemingly never-ending cost-of-living crisis when it comes to playing our favourite video games.

One great way to save money when it comes to keeping up with video game releases is subscription services such as PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass. The monthly cost of either, regardless of the tier, will often work out to be far cheaper than the cost of a full-priced AAA game.

Another way to save money is with Sony and Microsoft’s reward schemes, namely PlayStation Stars and Microsoft Rewards, but the topic of today’s discussion, it’s all about the blue brand.

With PlayStation Stars, you earn points for completing easy campaigns such as playing select PS Plus titles, earning specific in-game trophies or purchasing content from the PlayStation Store. Those points can then be redeemed against digital collectables to proudly display on your PS mobile app, buy certain video games or claim free store credit.

That being said, it seems that campaigns that earn you points are becoming increasingly few and far between, especially following the recent controversial changes to PlayStation Stars. So you might want to take advantage of claiming these 50 reward points before it’s too late.

You can earn 50 points by playing any of the following - LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach or Ender Lilies Quietus of the Knights. However, you only have until Monday, 2 September 2024 to claim them.

What’s more, make sure that you’re signed up to PlayStation Stars and have the PlayStation mobile app downloaded, it’s all free. With a bit of luck, you’ll be claiming free store credit before you know it and buying video games for free.
