PlayStation players are being urged to play nice with technical support and chase the Assassin’s Creed Shadows freebie that should have been a reward for unlocking a trophy.
Essentially, PlayStation Plus users who enjoy unlocking collectibles via the PlayStation Stars program found that a katana trophy wasn’t in their inventory, despite unlocking the corresponding trophy in-game.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows fans were left missing out after the collectible didn’t appear, and took to social media to complain.

It isn’t helped that PlayStation added the campaign for the trophy after many players achieved the goal, forcing them to miss out.
One Redditor has kindly started a thread giving advice on how to handle the situation, basically recommending that fans play nice with tech support.
Their advice reads, “If you contact support, and you’re nice, and you calmly explain that you bought shadows very early, and got the trophy before the campaign was added.”
They continue, “They have done it for me for multiple campaigns now, and they did it for me for this one. I had shadows preordered and got the prologue trophy before the campaign launched.”

Countless fans of the Stars service have been avidly collecting digital trophies for their games, and missing out can feel frustrating.
One Redditor replied that PlayStation support helped them - “I got it as well,” they said.
Despite this, countless players are finding themselves hit with a ‘no’ from PlayStation, with one Redditor explaining, “I contacted support twice, and they said... "Unfortunately PS Stars is a program that does not provide retroactive progress.”
As with any complaint situation, it sometimes depends on the representative you end up talking to, and what level of control they have.

“I got mine escalated to a higher team, and they said it can’t be rewarded,” noted HennyBlanco08.
It seems the result is mixed, but that doesn’t mean folks shouldn’t try.
