While Sony is yet to officially confirm the existence of a PlayStation 5 Pro, insider reports claim a full reveal is scheduled for later this year, specifically during the Tokyo Game Show.
Many believe Sony’s next console could have been planned for a reveal over Gamescom 2024, but that apparently won’t be the case as insiders are telling fans to temper their expectations.
Leaker Tom Henderson believes the Tokyo Game Show in September to be a prime time for the reveal, but only if the console is planned for release later this year.
Interestingly 2024 will be the first time Sony has been involved in the Tokyo Game Show in five years, implying it does have something it wants to show off.

The PlayStation 5 Pro is just one of many consoles that we’re expecting to crawl out of the woodwork eventually, most notably the Nintendo Switch 2 which many believe will be announced sometime before the end of the year.
In all likelihood we’ll get a PlayStation 5 Pro reveal before the Nintendo Switch 2, and it seems like Xbox is all out of new hardware after it unveiled the all-digital Xbox Series X earlier this year.
So in the meantime keep your eyes peeled for any announcements from Sony during Gamescom, but if the event passes without a whisper the Tokyo Game Show is the next safe bet, again provided the console is planned for release before the end of 2024.
