It sounds as if the vast majority of PlayStation users aren’t making the most out of PlayStation Stars and as such, could be missing out on easy free store credit.
PlayStation Stars launched back in late 2022. It’s essentially Sony’s answer to Microsoft Rewards, although it’s not quite as expansive. By completing simple tasks, PlayStation users can gather points and then once you’ve gained enough points, you can exchange these for free store credit. You’ll earn points on all PlayStation Store purchases, including renewing or starting a PlayStation Plus subscription, but you don’t have to spend money in order to make the most out of PlayStation Stars.

Each month, there will be a number of ‘campaigns’. Some of these campaigns task you with downloading or playing certain titles, sometimes related to PlayStation Plus, other times not. In most cases though, these are popular titles that, chances are, you may have been diving into anyway. The thing is, you have to click to activate these campaigns. If you do so and complete the task, you’ll get your points. The problem is that most people are likely doing the required task without activating the campaign first, thus missing out on those valuable points.

It’s really worth taking a look at the PlayStation Stars campaigns each month. I’ve just myself exchanged points for £5 of store credit with little to no effort. I purchased my PS Plus subscription, downloaded and enjoyed a couple of PS Plus games and here I am, with some juicy credit to spend.
Over on Reddit, some users weren’t even aware of the full benefits of PlayStation Stars. “Wait? You can get credit towards games?” one user said. It certainly feels like PlayStation Stars could be doing more to reward players, but don’t miss out on the current opportunities that are available.
