Now aside from a fresh coat of paint thanks to the PlayStation 5’s more advanced hardware, the remastered version also features a variety of additional content not found in the base game. There’ll be new skins, a director’s commentary, a Speedrun mode, Guitar Free Play Mode, Lost Levels, and the topic of today’s discussion, the No Return Mode which fans are really hyped for. Fans are also convinced the remaster will feature a new epilogue.
As for the No Return Mode though, it’s a roguelike that sees you play as one of the characters from the game, advancing through tough-as-nails survival missions while a timer counts down in the corner of the screen. If you can survive the countdown, you’ll advance to a harder level until you eventually complete the mode.
Playable characters are Jesse, Tommy, Dina, Mel, Lev, and more, and it’ll also feature roguelike gameplay meaning each level should feel different to the last time you played it, such as what enemies appear, what weapons you find etc.
It’s believed No Return Mode will feature 12 levels in total, which could be a lot or a little depending on how long the rounds last and how challenging it is to complete. Either way, it’s a great new addition, and something fans are very excited about.
