PlayStation is beginning to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the brand and they’re doing it in style.
Not only does the company have the tremendous Astro Bot releasing today to a wealth of perfect scores across the board, including a 10/10 from our Kate, but the console juggernaut is looking back at classic franchises too.
Astro Bot is utter perfection and a perfect way to celebrate PlayStation
God of War is a big part of PlayStation history with numerous games across the home consoles as well as Sony’s well-loved handhelds.

It stands head and shoulders above many other PlayStation exclusives to a lot of fans for being consistently great and filled with action-packed set pieces.
To celebrate this series, as well as plenty more, Sony has announced that, in collaboration with Sony Music, epic game soundtracks will be available for the first time across Spotify, Apple Music, and more.
Headlining these releases are soundtracks for God of War, God of War II, and God of War: Ghost of Sparta.
You’ll be able to relive epic moments and the many sweeping vistas of these classic games through the soundtracks that accompany them.

Music has always been a big part of the God of War games, with moving pieces with light instrumentation or vast orchestras coming together to create a dramatic piece to back the brutal fight scenes.
Of course, the more recent God of War soundtracks already feature on streaming platforms and if you haven’t listened to them, you should do yourself that favour.
Also released from Sony Music will be soundtracks to Twisted Metal, Starhawk, and Unit 13.
I hope this is part of a larger move to release older soundtracks and generally celebrate video game music as it’s a huge part of the art form that can often be overlooked.
