God Of War fans hyped by new anniversary teaser

"It's not over yet"

Rumours recently circled that God of War would receive a remastered version of the original Greek trilogy from the days of the PlayStation 2.

Many thought that Sony’s recent State of Play would unveil the project, but after 40 minutes of trailers, fans were left disappointed.

However, God of War fans are keeping the hope alive after a recent tease from franchise lead, Cory Barlog.

After a Twitter user posted a comment wondering what developer Santa Monica would do for the 20th anniversary of the series, Barlog replied, “I can.”

This was taken over to Reddit, where users began to build hype for a possible showing of Kratos.

While some don’t want to see this hope turn into the blind hope that many Bloodborne fans feel, others are certainly excited.

“In Cory, we trust,” commented one fan in the subreddit.

The back and forth between users is pretty funny to see with one saying, “Don't do that, don't give me hope,” and another exclaiming “I HAVE HOPE!”

Many are looking to 22 March, when the actual anniversary occurs, and perhaps we will see more plans to celebrate the older God of War games around that time.

There’s obviously a want for a revisit to the classic games, but most want something updated, rather than just another rerelease.

“Just announce the trilogy remastered already,” begs DaftNeal88.

Another fan says what we’ve all been thinking - “Strange that they didn’t announce it in the State of Play though.”

In reply, tayung2013 says, “Could be saving it for the inevitable summer State of Play/Showcase.”

Now, we’ll all just have to wait and watch to see if Sony reacts, or starts teasing things further.

If the game lead has something to say on the matter, it can’t be discounted, so we’ll be hoping along with everyone else.
