God Of War Ragnarok has the best version of Thor in “all media,” and it's hard to disagree.
After slaughtering the entire Greek mythology, before he went soft, Kratos stumbled his way into Midgard where he tried to live a peaceful life with his son Atreus. Of course things didn’t go to plan resulting him tackling gods and monsters from the Norse mythology, like Thor, God of Thunder.

Since his very first scene in God Of War Ragnarok Thor steals the show with an intimidating presence, devastating use of his hammer, Mjolnir and the powers it grants him, and he even briefly kills Kratos before bringing him back to life so he can continue fighting him.

He’s been continuously praised by fans for being a great antagonist/anti-hero, especially his character design, which is more reminiscent of the actual myths than Marvel’s version of the character. It’s also been described as “peak male performance” by powerlifters.
Now some fans are saying that God Of War’s depiction of Thor is the greatest version in “all media.” This bold claim was made by Aaron Jason Espinoza on Twitter, who said in a tweet “God of War Thor is the best Thor in all media.”

It’s a bold claim for sure but not one fans disagreed with. Many compared the PlayStation version of the character to the Marvel Cinematic Universe version, which is often used as a comic-relief character rather than an actual threat. Not God Of War Ragnarok though, in that game Thor is a destroyer first and foremost, and while he has the good intentions of protecting his family it makes him incredibly dangerous to Kratos and his friends.
One fan replied to the tweet with a clip of Thor intimidating Heimdall, saying “this scene really reminds you how intimating the actual Thor is. Shame Marvel turned him into a joke.”
Santa Monica Studios should really make a spin-off game about Thor, set before Kratos arrived and tackling some of the God Of Thunder’s most famous tales.
