It’s possible, though not guaranteed, that the retro gems from the God of War series could be making a return.
It was spotted online recently, and reported on Reddit, that the icons for the emulated games on PSN have changed, with one showing off the PS2-era Kratos.

This has led to speculation as to whether the games will be making their way across to the PlayStation Plus subscription service in the form of a PS5 version that includes save states, upscaled visuals, and often trophy support.

One user points out that if this is indeed the case, “That rewind gonna be handy in the hades level.”
Sony is getting better at bringing their retro catalogue to the PS5 via upscaled releases.
We’ve seen a slew of PS1 and PS2 games make their way to the console, all available via the Premium tier of PlayStation Plus.
Many are happy with this news and are building their hopes up. FallenShadeSlayer says, “Yesss more God of War PLEASE! I’ve been needing a good mindless action game. I think I’ve played most of them.”

I don’t want to get my own hopes up. I love the original games and the hack-and-slash action was peak.
The rebooted series that has affirmed the series as a masterpiece are wonderful, but button-mashing your way through fights was a blast.
Another Redditor is very excited exclaiming, “SONY! Give me all God of War games on PS5 and my life is yours!!”
The original post is quick to temper expectations, as this could just be a small Sony detail that never pans out.
