Given the recent conversations had by Microsoft, and the shift of the Forza series over to PlayStation, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see more games make the jump this year.
Microsoft is becoming a little more free with where it publishes its games and according to one industry tipster, Gears of War is next on the docket to shift over to PlayStation.
Gears of War is a beloved Xbox franchise with several instalments.
As rumoured on YouTube, eXtas1s divulged details that the Gears of War Trilogy Collection will be released for PlayStation on day one, alongside Xbox and PC.

Not only that, it will reportedly feature cross-platform play, meaning you can play against, or with, your pals over on Xbox.
As you might have guessed from the title of this game, it’s a collection of the first three games in the Gears of War franchise, originally released for the Xbox 360.
Usually, I’d tell you to take this information with a pinch of salt, and while that’s always advisable, this rumour comes from a source who called the PlayStation Forza announcement correctly.
A possible State of Play is coming from Sony around Valentine’s Day, which could point to an announcement being made regarding a partnership with Microsoft.

It’s not out of the realms of possibility; Microsoft has spoken about happily partnering with Nintendo and supporting the Switch 2 with games, and their stance seems to be one of collaboration rather than rivalry.
If this turns out to be true, it would be an unprecedented move, not seen since SEGA began publishing their games on Nintendo consoles, ending their competition born in the 1990s.
So, will you be playing when Marcus Fenix steps onto Sony hardware?
The move will be a shrewd one for Microsoft’s revenue, but one that will give players a chance to experience classic games that may have passed them by.
