It was only a few days ago that I wrote about a June reveal for Gears of War 6, yet here we are again, only this time seemingly with confirmation.
At the end of April, Gears of War actor, Liam McIntyre, stoke the flames of hope by tweeting that the developers for the franchise would reveal more in June.
Despite this feeling more of a legitimate tease than from some random source, caution was advised.

Prepare for the inevitable news by watching the Gears of War: Ultimate trailer
But yesterday, Xbox announced its Xbox Games Showcase which, lo and behold, takes place in June.
Furthermore, among the images shared, there was one that bared similarities to the Gears emblem.

As if that wasn’t enough, The Verge’s Tom Warren wrote an article in which they said, “I understand Microsoft is currently planning to announce a new Gears of War game during the show.”
Warren is considered a “generally reliable source”, and so it seems Gears of War 6 is really finally coming.
“Let's goo Gears 6 and Gears Collection,” excitedly posted a fan. To which someone joked, “I've got my clown wig and make-up ready to go!”
We’ve all been there.

Of course, while this is indeed fantastic news for the fandom, there are other fans still waiting to learn the fate of their beloved series.
“Where the f*ck is Fable?” asked someone who clearly read my mind.
Unfortunately, it looks like we’ll need to wait until 2025 for more details on that one, as explained by a fan, “I think there were some rumours about it being shown this showcase and being released in 2025.”
It sucks, but at least we have some positive news to keep us going until June.
