PlayStation gamers have spotted what looks to be a tease that might imply that we’re finally getting a PS5 port of Bloodborne. Please, Sony, don’t make this an empty tease.
Released in 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Bloodborne instantly became one of the best games from the famed Japanese studio FromSoftware. Bloodborne is widely considered to not only be one of FromSoftware’s best games, alongside the likes of Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls and Elden Ring, but it’s also considered to be one of the best video games of all time.

“A deadly mystery that swallows everything it touches. Face your fears as you enter the decaying city of Yharnam, a forsaken place ravaged by a terrible, all-consuming illness. Scour its darkest shadows, fight for your life with blades and guns and discover secrets that will make your blood run cold – but just might save your skin,” reads the ominous synopsis of Bloodborne.

For years, fans have been calling for a Bloodborne remaster or remake on PC and PlayStation 5, heck, we’d even take a basic free new-gen update. However, it’s gotten to the point that every time we see renewed hope, we can’t help but roll our eyes at the latest speculation that inevitably ends in disappointment.
Yet (and I’m still rolling my eyes as I type this), there has been another dose of renewed hope after PlayStation gamers spotted an interesting tease that might imply a Bloodborne release of some sort could be headed to PlayStation 5. As shared by Reddit user DarahOG, Bloodborne DLC, The Old Hunters was listed as a PlayStation 5 game in the rewards section for PS Stars on the PlayStation mobile app.
It’s most likely that this is an internal error of some sort. Perhaps The Old Hunters, which is also bundled in the Bloodborne: Game of the Year Edition, was supposed to be listed as a PS Stars reward but was accidentally described as PlayStation 5 DLC instead of PS4. This listing might also be region-specific or removed because it doesn't feature on my mobile app at the time of writing.

I won’t be getting my hopes up, as I strongly suspect this is an error. That being said, Bloodborne is such a popular game that fans are desperate for a native PC and PlayStation 5 release, that surely Sony has to make it happen one day, right?
Bloodborne is playable on PlayStation 5 but has no new-gen benefits such as improved visuals or framerate. But at the very least, it’s still a bloody great game nonetheless.
