Finally, Bloodborne will be getting the long-awaited remaster we’ve all been crying out for. Well, albeit via a technicality.
It’s hard to believe that Bloodborne was released nearly 10 years ago on the PlayStation 4 and to this very day, it remains one of FromSoftware’s most critically acclaimed and beloved classics.

So why hasn't developer FromSoftware or publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment released a remake or remaster of Bloodborne? At this time, we can only speculate but it’s something that fans desperately want to see and its continued absence baffles the video game community.

What’s more, when you take into account previous remasters and remakes of FromSoftware titles, it’s even more baffling. Granted, the Demon’s Souls PS5 remake was handled by Japan Studio/Bluepoint Games and Dark Souls Remastered by Virtuos.
For example, Demon’s Souls was originally released in 2009 and its remake arrived in 2020 resulting in an 11-year gap. As for Dark Souls, that window is even shorter with its original release in 2011 and its remaster in 2018, a gap of just seven years.
However, if you decide to pick up the now-confirmed and very pricey PlayStation 5 Pro, you can play a remastered version of Bloodborne, kind of. As it stands, despite being backwards compatible with the standard PS5, Bloodborne still performs at 30 frames per second.
Yet, the PlayStation 5 Pro gives certain backwards-compatible PS4 games an added boost in resolution and framerate. Gamers on Reddit are hoping that Bloodborne will benefit from a 60fps boost on Sony’s upcoming machine.

“If the PS5 Pro boost makes Bloodborne run at 60fps, I would consider buying it largely for that alone,” claimed i_like_fish_decks with silverinferno3 adding “I wonder how many people are gonna shell out 700 USD for a Bloodborne machine?”
“If we get a solid 60fps Bloodborne, I’ll buy the PS5 Pro on day one, " exclaimed TyrionLannister2012.
Reddit user tokyobassist offered a different take on the popular FromSoftware title suggesting that Sony may have other plans. “If Bloodborne was possible Sony would have shown it [during the PS5 Pro reveal), but they didn't so it won't. I think it wants to remake it, so we gotta hope that it doesn't suck.”
Bloodborne is out now on PS4 and is backwards compatible with PS5.
