If a recent rumour is believed, Days Gone will be getting a remaster before Bloodborne.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of Days Gone which was released on PlayStation 4 in 2019. Sure, it’s a slow burn, but I eventually really liked it and even went out of my way to claim its Platinum trophy.

In 2020, Days Gone benefited from a free new-gen update for PlayStation 5 which gave the game a boost of a targeted 60 frames-per-second. Initially, Days Gone struggled to accommodate hundreds of freakers aka zombies on the screen simultaneously on PS4, so this was a very welcomed update.

Plus, when being played on PlayStation 5, Days Gone looks fantastic. However, as much as I really like Days Gone, if it were to get an official remaster before Bloodborne, that would be borderline criminal.
Bloodborne was released in 2015 for PlayStation 4 and instantly became one of FromSoftware’s best games, a studio that has pumped out the likes of Elden Ring, Dark Souls, Demon’s Souls and more.
Yet, as we approach the 10th anniversary of Bloodborne, despite continued pleas from fans, there is no sign of Sony greenlighting a remaster or remake anytime soon.
Heck, Bloodborne can't even get a free new-gen update that boosts the framerate to 60fps, when instead, it’s locked at 30fps on PlayStation 5. Moreover, as much as I love Horizon Zero Dawn, a game that was released in 2017 and still looks incredible today, it looks like even that is getting a remaster before Bloodborne.

In a tweet from video game content creator mrpyo1 (via Wccftech), he highlighted the current speculation making the rounds that Days Gone could soon be getting an official remaster and some believe that will be announced during Sony’s rumoured State of Play event next week.

The most recent rumour of Days Gone getting an official remaster appears to have originated from VGC journalist Jordan Middler and then picked up by an industry insider, Jeff Grubb
If I were to be positive, a part of me wants to think that Sony is releasing a Days Gone remaster to test the water for the highly requested sequel.
As for Bloodborne, I’m sure if Sony were to greenlight a free new-gen update on PS5, it would have happened long before now and perhaps it’s holding out for a big reveal on its tenth anniversary for a remaster or a full remake announcement.
As always, we’ll keep you updated as soon as we hear further news on the potential remasters or remakes of Days Gone and Bloodborne.
