Fans are so desperate to play a Bloodborne remaster, that they’ve taken matters into their own hands and based on early efforts, it’s looking very impressive indeed.
Bloodborne was released in 2015 and it quickly became one of FromSoftware’s best games and that’s saying something considering it had already developed the likes of Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls. More recently, the developer banged out another classic with Elden Ring followed by its expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree earlier this year.

Bloodborne still looks fantastic to this day, even when played on the PlayStation 4. However, fans would love to see nothing more than a PS5 update that gives this goth action RPG a tidy 60 frames-per-second boost.

Sadly, there is no sign of an official Bloodborne remaster happening anytime soon and it looks like the closest we’re going to get, at least on console, is a potential boost when being played on the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro.
As reported by Wccftech, not content with waiting around, via PC emulation, indie developers are now remastering Bloodborne themselves seeing as Sony looks reluctant to make that happen officially.
One such indie developer is fromsoftserve, and already by using existing mods, the dynamic shadow effects of Bloodborne have been greatly improved as well as the skybox, textures and more, as showcased in a video uploaded to his YouTube channel.
Another modder named BrutalSam is also remastering Bloodborne and recently released a free download on Nexusmods that improves the anti-aliasing but at the expense of a dip in performance.

I wouldn't hold your breath for Sony to release a free next-gen update anytime soon, other than a boost which may occur when being played on the PS5 Pro. It’s perhaps more likely that we’ll get a retail remaster or remake but that’s probably just wishful thinking on my part.
Bloodborne is out now on PlayStation 4 and is backwards compatible with PlayStation 5 locked at 30fps.
