If you’re experiencing crashing whilst playing Baldur’s Gate 3 on your PlayStation 5, Larian Studios has issued advice on how to rectify the problem.
I think it’s fair to say that a lot of us underestimated Baldur’s Gate 3. Larian Studios’ latest is undeniably one of the strongest GOTY contenders, proving to be both a critical and commercial success. It’s the highest-rated PlayStation 5 game of all-time, which is an amazing achievement. Don’t forget that the Xbox version is due to release in the coming months. In addition to that, a major new update is on the way plus devs have confirmed that they’re working on crossplay. While the game is a lot of fun, it’s not without a few technical issues. One such issue is PS5 players experiencing crashing, but there is a simple trick you can use to fix that.
Take a look at Baldur’s Gate 3 in action below.
I say simple trick … It is simple, but it’s by no means ideal. Acknowledging the persistent issue on Twitter, Larian wrote, “Some PS5 players are experiencing sudden Baldur’s Gate 3 crashes in what appears to be a PSN-related issue,” adding, “We’re investigating the problem, but for now, the workaround is to disconnect your PS5 from the internet.” This is fine if you’re playing the single-player campaign, not so much if you’re enjoying the game’s multiplayer offering.

Larian has been releasing a steady stream of patches and updates so we can assume that this issue will be fixed soon. We’re still awaiting an Xbox release date. The Xbox version was delayed after devs struggled to get split screen co-op working on the Series S. Microsoft’s parity agreement ensures that Series X and S versions of games include the same features.
In a landmark arrangement, Baldur’s Gate 3 will be the first game to be released outside of that agreement as the Series S version is set to release without split screen co-op. Devs assured fans they’d receive the game before the end of the year.
