Despite Baldur’s Gate 3 reportedly having no DLC, the sheer number of updates is keeping the game alive.
This is enough to be pleased about, but then when you factor in Baldur’s Gate 3’s successor, we can barely contain our excitement.
BG3 is still popular over a year later.

So much so that it was nominated for The Game Awards’ Best Community Support.

Upon hearing the happy news, Larian Studios’ CEO, Swen Vincke, spoke of how difficult it was to focus on BG3 when the development team is “buzzing” about its next project.

“It's very hard to keep on delivering on something that's already out there while the entire studio is buzzing with all the new exciting stuff. But they've been doing it with lots of passion and it's heartwarming to see people take notice,” Vincke said.
For those of you not aware of Larian Studios’ next game, it’s going to be an original IP removed from the Dungeons & Dragons universe.
But worry not, for Vincke assures gamers that the foundations that made BG3 such an outstanding experience will be utilised in this exciting new adventure as well.
Speaking about the project, Vincke shared, “I don’t know if we’re going to pull it off, but looking at our narrative, visual and gameplay plans, I think what we’re working on now will be our best work ever.”

“I get excited like a kid watching the key imagery, want to show it to everyone now and grumble in frustration at having to wait until it’s actually all working,” they concluded.
The future of Larian Studios feels safe, which is arguably what BG3 fans are most concerned about.
None of us want to see such a talented studio lose its way after creating one of the best RPGs in recent years.
Whatever the next adventure will be, we’re ready to join Larian as we quest our way across the map.
