We get to see hundreds of trailers nowadays utilising technology to bring older games up to ‘new-gen’ console standards.
They’re not always running on modded games, or via ROMhacks, much like this updated look at The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
The last Zelda game from Nintendo put us in the princess's shoes.
As you can see from the YouTube video, the game is running through an emulator, injecting 4K textures and shaders.

This brings older games, such as this instalment of The Legend of Zelda, up to a visual standard more likely seen in gaming in 2024.
Fans are, understandably, in love with the updated look.
There are hundreds of comments in adoration of what has been achieved, and a fair few of them asking Nintendo to get to work on official updates.
“This is how good the graphics looked to me as a kid when the game first came out. Thank you for bringing back the memories,” said one comment.

Another user exclaimed, “Twilight Princess deserves the treatment of Metroid Prime Remaster.”
Whether Nintendo has this in their plans for the Switch 2, which will likely come with a wealth of technology upgrades to facilitate these kinds of remasters, is hard to say.
Nintendo is very protective of its older games, so for now, we’ll have to live vicariously through these YouTube projects.
It’s clear the market is there if Nintendo pulled the trigger as you’ve got fans saying things like, “I loved how TP looked before but now, wow this is magnificent.”

One said, “When it comes to storyline, Twilight Princess reigns supreme. This looks beautiful. Amazing what mods can do to old games. Nintendo, please please remaster and release on Switch.”
As someone who sadly missed out on this era of Zelda, I’d love to be able to revisit it with the ease of Switch hardware, so we’ll have to keep our fingers crossed.
