Zelda fans delighted by trailer for stunning 4K remaster

Ocarina of Time has never looked better

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is one of the greatest games ever made, and it’s never looked better thanks to this jaw-dropping remaster.

Nintendo cooked something truly remarkable for Zelda on the Nintendo 64, and while it did get a remake for the Nintendo 3DS fans have been dying for a proper one for their home consoles.

Maybe the Nintendo Switch 2 will give us just that, but that remains to be seen

If you want an idea of what that could look like though, look no further than this HD texture pack for Ocarina of Time that’ll soon be available for all players.

You can see the texture pack in action on YouTube and it’s very impressive, though it’s not for the Nintendo 64 version of the game, it’s for the aforementioned Nintendo 3DS version.

Regardless it does a great job of sprucing up some of the visuals to look better on larger displays, after all the 3DS gameplay blown up onto a normal monitor can look very pixelated and unpleasant, as it just wasn’t made to be seen that closely.

As you can imagine fans immediately demanded that Nintendo do something similar for the game on Nintendo Switch, with one fan calling it “what we actually need” rather than just the re-release we got with Nintendo Switch Online.

“Bro I've been waiting years for something like this. This is really amazing my guy!” added another.

Finally one fan of the series said “As an OOT fan this had me speechless. It's so beautiful. Great work!”

If Nintendo does decide to remake Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, this texture pack creates a compelling argument for what it should look like.

Personally I’m hoping Nintendo ports the Wii U remake of Zelda: The Wind Waker to the Nintendo Switch first, but I wouldn’t be opposed to a full-on collection like Super Mario: 3D All-Stars.
