If you’re a fan of The Elder Scrolls franchise, I’m hoping that Skywind is already on your radar.
If it’s not though, it’s of paramount importance that I change that.
Clearly, we’re all itching to get our hands on The Elder Scrolls VI but that game is likely several years away and so we must patiently, or impatiently, wait.

As cliche as it sounds, it’s true what they say of Skyrim.
Thanks to its vibrant modding community, it’s the gift that keeps on giving and while there have been some fantastic mods over the years, I don’t think anything quite compares to the upcoming Skywind.
Essentially, the mod team are recreating The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind in Skyrim’s engine.
It’s been in the works for several years, just to give you some idea about the quality of the project. An immense amount of care and attention has been poured in.

Skywind “sheds the shackles of the older game, bringing modern graphics, assets, and sounds, a full cast of voice actors, and all the benefits of 15 years of gaming improvements, while preserving the incredible characters, locations, and quests with which Morrowind charmed the world all those years ago,” according to the mod’s website.
Unfortunately, Skywind remains without a release date for now but devs did just drop a major new feature update.
ICYMI: Star Wars Outlaws is out now. Take a look at the game in action below.
In the latest developer deep dive over on the Skywind YouTube channel, the team showcased around two-hours of gameplay.

Visited locations included the Sixth House strongholds, as well as the lands of House Telvanni and House Hlaalu to name a few.
The team detailed how all building interiors have been made from the ground up, hugely improving the level of detail when compared to the original Morrowind.
Classic features like spellcrafting will return and devs additionally touched on the voice acting which, yes, we already knew was to be included but it’s nice to hear about just how this will be expanded to boost the game’s immersion.
Skywind is looking phenomenal and yet, it still remains without a release date.

Naturally, we want devs to take their time but so too are we itching to give this one a go.
I have faith it’ll arrive before The Elder Scrolls VI. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed.
