Just when we thought we had learned all there was to know about the land of Skyrim, another fan comes forward with an impressive discovery.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may have first been released well over a decade ago but that doesn’t mean that its dedicated fanbase aren’t still uncovering all there is to learn about the Bethesda classic.

Check out The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim trailer below!

From hidden treasure found under Whiterun to more secrets found underwater, it appears as though Bethesda really captured the necessities of an open-world RPG.

Now it seems as though there is another secret and the details come courtesy of one fan over on r/skyrim.

“Still learning fun facts,” the post read.

“Such as the Mythic Dawn still up to their crap opening Oblivion Gates. Just found one in Skyrim. First time doing this quest, I was not expecting this at all.”

The post comes alongside a screenshot of the mysterious portal which the user confirms is to do with the activity of the Mythic Dawn.

In the land of Skyrim, the Mythic Dawn was a cult that served the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon and was responsible for the Oblivion Crisis.

With many fans confused as to why they missed such an obvious portal, one Reddit user had all the answers.

Apparently, this portal was added with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition as the edition added Creation Club mods by default.

As a result, this portal was added as part of the mod known as The Cause whose quest line includes adding the Mythic Dawn to certain dungeons alongside Oblivion portals.

“How the Mythic Dawn are still active after hundreds of years is not explained,” they explained.

“I’m also pretty sure it has no crossover with the actual Mythic Dawn questline.

There’s just this Mythic Dawn weeaboo out in Dawnstar who has no idea his favorite terrorist group is somehow still alive and in Skyrim.”

So if you don’t own the Anniversary Edition of Skyrim, then you would have not come across this mysterious portal before.

However, if you are eager for more content, then this is definitely the way to do it.
