A new mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 adds new 2K textures for all NPCs, making the game’s world feel even more vivid and alive.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is already a perfect game, the fact people are still playing and talking about it years after its release is a testament to that.
Take a look at the disappointing announcement of the Red Dead Redemption re-release below
Not only does it have one of the single greatest open worlds in all of gaming, but it also tells one of the best stories ever written, that hits every emotional beat, like the masterpiece that is Chapter 6, and makes you truly feel for the characters.

While you could talk about the legendary protagonists Arthur Morgan and John Marston, and the rest of the Van der Linde gang all day long, the side characters and NPCs you meet along the way make the land worth exploring.
With that in mind, there’s a brilliant mod worth installing that’ll completely overhaul the appearance of NPCs, giving them 2K textures so they look more realistic than ever.
Simple called the 2K NPC Textures mod, created by mysticalpresence, it does exactly what it says on the tin, replaces in-game textures with new, upscaled ones. This improves the faces, torsos, hair, eyes, and hands of all models, and affects unnamed, wandering NPCs as well as the important ones, like those found in your camp.
It joins a suite of other overhaul mods, many of which completely change the appearance of the game, introducing greater graphical fidelity, lighting effects and much, much more.

All of them go a long way to making a great game even better, ironic considering a re-release of Red Dead Redemption is coming out for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch soon, with basically no improvements whatsoever.
It hasn’t gone down well amongst fans, many of which were expecting a full-on remake of the original game, or at the very least a remaster, and have expressed their disappointment through review bombs. Things were only exacerbated when it was revealed the re-release would cost $50/£39.99, prompting further outrage from fans.
The 2K NPC Textures mod is available to download right now on Nexus Mods.
