Red Dead Redemption 2 fans quietly add Mexico map expansion

Red Dead Redemption 2 fans quietly add Mexico map expansion

We always want more RDR2

If you’re hoping to play new content in Red Dead Redemption 2, then this fan-made Mexico expansion could be for you.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was released in 2018 and it instantly became one of the best titles from Rockstar Games, placing itself among the studio's upper echelon that is the Grand Theft Auto series. So naturally, fans are now eagerly awaiting any announcement from the GTA VI developer in regards to Red Dead Redemption 3.

Check out the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer below!

Sadly, we’ve had no official update on Red Dead Redemption 3 just yet, especially with Rockstar Games fully focused on the development and release of GTA VI. That being said, while we wait, we have plenty of reasons to jump back into Red Dead Redemption 2, even more so if you’re a PC gamer.

Thanks to the wonderful modding community, they continually breathe new life into the games that we love, whether it's GTA V, Fallout 4, Skyrim and so much more. The mod that is the topic of today’s discussion is called ‘13 New Campsites in Mexico’, created by TheVikenty and it’s free to download now via Nexusmods.

As the name of the mod obviously suggests, it adds 13 new campsites to Red Dead Redemption 2 in the region of Mexico, a region only accessible with mods and boundary-breaking.

The campsites in Red Dead Redemption 2 are places where the player as Arthur Morgan can save the game, change outfits, complete chores, interact with fellow members of the Dutch van der Linde gang, and so forth.

Unfortunately, the '13 New Campsites in Mexico’ mod is a PC deal only. For the rest of us, we can happily play Red Dead Redemption 2 as intended on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently expected to be released sometime in late 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, unless it suffers a delay, of course.
