I can’t be the only one wondering what’s in store for Rockstar Games following the launch of GTA VI later this year.
Of course, GTA VI isn’t going to be a one-and-done type of thing.
It’ll assumedly be followed by a PC port and an online mode but eventually, Rockstar will turn its attention to a new project.

Like many other Red Dead Redemption fans, I’d love for that to be something pertaining to the studio’s famed Wild West franchise.
What a new Red Dead game would look like though, I don’t know.
If Rockstar was to make Red Dead Redemption 3, they risk entering a period in time when the Wild West stopped feeling like, well, the Wild West.
With that in mind, it’s more likely we’d go further back in time, perhaps with the story centring around an entirely new set of characters.

In the meantime, one fan has crafted a small sequel, of sorts, that you can experience now for free on PC.
‘The Aftermath of Guarma’ is a mod that examines what Guarma might be like 20 years after the events of Red Dead Redemption 2.
GTA VI is Rockstar’s next major release.
Guarma is, of course, the predominant setting for much of Chapter 5.

It’s not a location players can naturally return to in the vanilla game, but you can do so with the help of mods.
And if you do that with this project from modder generalpengu, you’ll be able to experience Guarma a tad further along in time.
The mod adds “a border, a more detailed port, a better village, secrets, and lore”.
That lore is detailed in the mod’s description but I’m hesitant to repeat it here as surely discovering what became of Guarma is a part of this mod's charm.

Of course, us console players cannot join in with this one and honestly, I don’t really have much to console you with about that fact.
Nothing new is known to be on the way for Red Dead Redemption 2 and as much as I adore the game, there are only so many playthroughs one can complete.
Let’s hope Rockstar will return to this gem in the future.
