Rockstar Games’s Red Dead Redemption 2 is about as close to perfect as you can get with a video game. So how do you improve on near perfection?
For many reasons, Red Dead Redemption 2 is considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time as indicated by its Metacritic score of 97. In 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2, whether it’s the huge and vibrant open world, immersive storylines, interesting cast of characters or its fun combat, there is plenty of fun to be had in this classic western from Rockstar Games.

“Red Dead Redemption 2 is a masterpiece. Graphics good, combat good, story good, main character good,” said Joey from friends on Metacritic. “No game has ever made me feel the way RDR2 made me feel the first time through,” CourtJestCowboy said in their user review.

Sometimes when a game such as Red Dead Redemption 2 has achieved near-perfect, it can be a gruelling task trying to improve on its formula, something that Rockstar Games will hope to achieve with Red Dead Redemption 3. Until then, talented modder such as PixieV has us covered with the free mod ‘Cut Dialogue Restoration and Enhancement’ available to download now via Nexusmods.
PixieV is restoring cut dialogue from the game such as when protagonist Arthur Morgan trash talks during combat. Best of all, with this being dialogue that Rockstar Games had decided to cut for whatever reason, this mod is about as authentic as you can get without it being an official release from the GTA developer.
“With ‘Cut Dialogue Restoration and Enhancement 1.0’ the combat taunts found in other Rockstar titles are restored and implemented naturally into the game,” reads the description of the mod. “On top of that, when you whip draft horses attached to wagons more aggressive lines that were previously cut are now restored.”
Sadly, this mod is only compatible with the PC version of the game. Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it’s also backwards compatible with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
