Well, Grand Theft Auto VI wasn’t revealed yesterday despite the internet descending into mass hysteria, convinced that it would be.
Many still believe that it’ll be announced this week though. Whether that’s true or not, only time will tell. Kate, why are people so obsessed with this week, I hear you ask? Well, one insider previously said they were willing to risk their credibility by announcing that they were confident the GTA VI trailer would be dropped on 26 October. Only one more day until we find out if that’s true. Every other insider then followed suit, popping up with promises of “soon”. Yesterday, Rockstar Games caused a ruckus when they seemingly uploaded a private video, with many assuming this to be the trailer. To add to the chaos, one insider is now claiming the PC version has been delayed - yes, despite the fact that we don’t have a release date.
Take a look at this incredible Vice City remaster mod.
As reported by Dexerto, somewhat reliable leaker Tez2 took to GTA Forums to announce that, just as fans feared, the PC release of GTA VI would come sometime after the console release. He said, “Internally, the PC version is more buggy than the console versions. Rockstar wouldn’t want to end up with a Star Wars Jedi Survivor or The Last of Us Part I PC situation for the most anticipated game.”
Advert
He continued, “I’ve heard from various sources that the devs expect VI PC release to happen after citing more time needed. Hopefully, it’s a delay of a few months.” Rockstar has traditionally always prioritised console GTA entries, releasing the PC version some months later.
Fans did think that might change this time around, particularly given how advanced and popular PC gaming is right now compared to when GTA V was released. Unfortunately, it looks as if PC gamers will once again have to be patient.
