For the past two decades or so, the video game industry has never been short of military shooters whether it be Call of Duty or Battlefield. One could argue for that reason the genre can feel a little over-saturated at times, but there is one game that should not be looked over and it’s the upcoming first-person shooter, Gray Zone Warfare.
Despite the somewhat underwhelming name, the gameplay for Gray Zone Warfare looks far removed from being anything but underwhelming. By the looks of its recent and stunning gameplay trailer, Gray Zone Warfare looks to blend elements of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Escape from Tarkov.

Coming to PC, developed and published by Madfinger Games, an independent studio based in the Czech Republic, Gray Zone Warfare is an MMO that offers both co-op and PvP modes. “Following a mysterious event that took place on an island in Southeast Asia, the entire area has been put under international quarantine.

“With almost all the civilian population evacuated by the United Nations, three PMCs are tasked by their enigmatic clients to explore the region, uncover its secrets, and bring back anything of value,” explains the synopsis.
“Gray Zone Warfare is an immersive tactical FPS with a maximum focus on realism. Join a Private Military Company and navigate a vast open-world setting alone or in a squad. Adapt to your surroundings, use tactics to your advantage, and fight against other human operators and AI-controlled enemies,” reads the description of the game.
Gray Zone Warfare has no release date at the time of writing. However, considering that it can be wishlist on Steam, we at least know that this impressive military shooter is coming to PC. Hopefully, it will eventually come to PlayStation and Xbox with full cross-play support. We’ll keep you posted if we hear of any further developers on Gray Zone Warfare.
