We’re still no closer to an official remake of Fallout: New Vegas, but this fan-made remaster will do for now.
Fallout is in an odd place at the moment. The current game in the series, Fallout 76, is still kicking following several post-launch updates with another set for release sometime this year and will introduce a new area to explore.

Also on the way is Amazon Prime Video’s live-action Fallout series, which received its first stunning trailer late 2023.

Looking ahead, Bethesda is a long way off from releasing another post-apocalyptic RPG. The next game on its release schedule is The Elder Scrolls VI, which has only recently entered full development. After that, Fallout 5 will be next, though it might be the first Bethesda game Todd Howard won’t be working on.
You’ll no doubt notice that there’s been no mention of Fallout: New Vegas, arguably the most popular game in the franchise, and it wasn’t even made by Bethesda. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the game is still one of the best RPGs ever made, and while you can play it on current-gen consoles with a boosted resolution, and modded via PC, an official remaster or remake seems out of the question.
Luckily, there are plenty of technical wizards willing to do the job themselves, like this video which shows Fallout: New Vegas running at 4K with raytracing. Words can’t describe how good it looks, though by god I’ll try.
New Vegas always looked best in the daylight, unless you were in the New Vegas Strip in which case nighttime was prime time for those neon lights. The enhanced graphics make the vast desert look like its searing under the heat, and the added colour and details are comparable to Fallout 4 in terms of quality.

Why on earth Xbox hasn’t pushed for a full-on remake of Fallout: New Vegas, or even a sequel for that matter, is beyond belief. Seriously guys, get on it, it’d make a phenomenal exclusive.
