Fallout has been a beloved series for decades with fans never tiring of exploring and causing mayhem in its vast post-apocalyptic wastelands.
The Fallout series began in 1997 before Bethesda Softworks acquired its rights. Fallout has always been a popular property but it’s fair to say that when Bethesda launched its first game in the series, Fallout 3 in 2008, the franchise became a major player in the video game industry.

That being said, other than Fallout 3, many fans of the series might consider Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4 as the best the series has to offer. Speaking of Fallout 4, this year it finally benefited from its free new-gen update for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Unfortunately for the likes of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, there is no new-gen update and there probably won't ever be. Thankfully, the talented and ever-vibrant modding community has us covered.
As reported by DSOGaming, you can bring some of the best elements of Fallout: New Vegas into Fallout 4, thanks to modder alegendv1. The mod in question that is free to download via Nexusmods is ‘New Vegas Skill System - A 2024 Merry Modding Days Mod’.
Just as the name of the mod suggests, it brings all the regular perks, skills and levelling system of Fallout: New Vegas into the more modern Fallout 4. It will also retain the gameplay mechanics of Fallout 4, so you need not worry about changing the game too much.
Sadly, despite the Xbox version of Fallout 4 supporting mods due to its Creation Club, not all mods are compatible and that includes the one featured in today’s article. It’s a PC deal only.

For the rest of us, we can play Fallout 4 as intended on PlayStation and Xbox. Fallout 4 is also available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers at no extra cost.
