Dark Souls fans can embark on an entirely new adventure through an overhauled version of Dark Souls 3.
While you’re waiting for the next challenge Elden Ring has to offer with its upcoming Shadow Of The Erdtree expansion, perhaps you’re thinking of replaying some of FromSoftware’s greatest hits?
Check out the gameplay trailer for Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree below.
If that sounds like you, and you’re on PC, you’ll be happy to hear there’s a large variety of mods for some of FromSoftware’s best titles, many of which will treat you to entirely new adventures like Dark Souls: Archthrones.

The one we’re talking about today though is Dark Souls: Cinders, an expansion and overhaul for Dark Souls 3 that introduces revamped enemies, a more linear world to explore, and changes to weapons, armour and other tools you’ll take on your journey.
Upon booting up the game, you’ll be treated to a brand-new range of classes and starting items to choose from, which will hopefully shake-up the builds you’ll typically go with if you were playing the base version of the game.
Players who favour a mage build will also be glad to know the magic system has been revamped to make spells “operate in a more fluid way,” and your magic bar will replenish automatically the same way your stamina bar does.
You can even make the adventure easier than ever by summoning a companion to help you fight wherever you are, rather than specific points of the map.

All in all, Dark Souls: Cinders is a completely new way to play Dark Souls 3, and well-worth a go if you already know the base game inside and out.
It’ll also hopefully prepare you for Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree, which could very well be FromSoftware’s toughest challenge yet.
