Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City is already a beautiful place. You only have to drive through the city to see the shine of neon lights spilling across puddles and the kaleidoscope of colours from the art graffitied over long-abandoned buildings. However, if you want to enhance the metropolis even more, we have just the suggestion.
Since the recent 2.0 update and arrival of expansion Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077 has already undergone a massive change since the title was first released in 2020. The game is beautiful in its own right, perhaps too beautiful considering the bleakness of the city that lurks underneath. However, thanks to one modder, Night City can be enhanced even more.

The mod, titled Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked Project, is by HalkHogan over on Nexus Mods. Quite simply, it “aims to improve the graphics by reworking game assets to better quality, preserving original art style and good performance.” As you can see, the mod won’t change anything in the game but will simply enhance the details that are already there.
Not only is the mod now compatible with update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty, but it also includes two versions which all depend on your VRAM. The Ultra Quality version contains the highest quality textures but is only recommended for 2K/4K displays. If you’re struggling with video card memory, you can opt for the Balanced version which will only take up 0.5-1GB of VRAM. Although the former gives the best visual experience, the latter still significantly improves your game.

If you download the mod, you will see improvements to features such as grime, graffiti, trash and other details around the city and outer lands. If you want to slightly improve the look of Cyberpunk 2077 without adding anything too drastic to your game, this will be the perfect addition. However, with CD Projekt Red’s title lately being hailed as one of the best video games of all time, it appears it doesn’t even need any improvements.
