Over the past few months, we have slowly become used to the idea that the PlayStation 4 has reached the end of its successful lifespan with companies now turning their attention to the future of console gaming.
First released way back in 2013 and being responsible for giving us some hit titles such as Marvel’s Spider-Man, God of War, and Horizon Zero Dawn to name a few, it seems as though the PlayStation 4 has come to the end.
Check out Sony's latest console, the PlayStation 5 Pro, below!
Since its release, Sony has not only released the PlayStation 5 but it also launched the PlayStation 5 Pro back in November and rumours even hint at the PlayStation 6 being in the early stages of development.

As a result, it is safe to assume that publishers and developers will be looking to the future and no longer supporting the PlayStation 4.
Well, that is certainly the case for Electronic Arts who is set to abandon the PS4 for the first time since its launch.
Up until now, EA releases have been cross-gen but that is set to change with one of its upcoming releases.
Last week saw EA reveal that its upcoming football game, Madden NFL 26 would be releasing on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 14 August.

This marks the first time that a Madden NFL title will not be released on both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
This is definitely the end of an era for fans of the highly successful football game series but it definitely makes sense considering that the PS5 is set to celebrate its five-year anniversary later this year.
Not only that but EA also took the time to announce the release date for College Football 26 which will arrive on 10 July and once again, will arrive on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S only.
The end of an era indeed.
