CD Projekt RED ought to be commended for their complete and utter transformation of Cyberpunk 2077. The game we see today is a far cry from the rather sorry excuse that landed back in 2020.
The transformation kicked off in 2022 with the launch of the new-gen update. It wasn’t until last year’s Update 2.0 though that players really felt that Cyberpunk 2077 had begun to reach its true potential. The update overhauled cyberware and perks, whilst introducing mounted weaponry, a new skill relic tree, and vehicular combat. The surprise Update 2.1 then came along - adding the well-designed metro system - followed by the stunning Phantom Liberty expansion. Players said that had Cyberpunk 2077 released in its current state, it would easily have been a GOTY contender.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City is easily one of the best-looking locales in gaming, boasting stellar graphics. It’s hard to believe that it could be improved upon, but that appears to be the case. YouTuber Ultimate Graphics has showcased what the already fantastic Night City looks like with a variety of mods applied and the result is, I’m imagining, about as crisp and defined as you can possibly get. Take a look at the project in action below.
Ultimate Graphics revealed that they used Nova LUT Pure, GITS, HD Rework, Draw Distance, as well as several car-related and utility mods. They also utilised Ultra Plus Path Tracing with increased rays/bounce, and ran the game via the RTX 4090 GPU and Ryzen 58000X3D.

Rather unsurprisingly, fellow Cyberpunk 2077 fans were blown away. “Very impressive, good job,” one wrote, while another added, “As always, the best in his field.” Ultimate Graphics has made the full mod list available so if you too want to push this release to its limits, you can. Happy modding.
