The first game in the popular Nintendo franchise was a hit and went on to inspire almost 30 more video games since its inception.
So it is perhaps no wonder that fans are still feeling nostalgic for where it all began.
That is definitely the case for YouTuber Vasge who has set out on a project to remake the first dungeon from the original The Legend of Zelda.
The 2D animator will focus on recreating the 1986 title by using fine-line hand-drawn visuals and has taken to their channel to share the process so far.

The almost 10-minute Devlog sees Vasge explain how this project came about, including all of the processes such as planning and prototyping, and post-processing to name a few.
“I am a 2D animator, but I really want to make games,” they explained.
“This is the first of (probably) many videos I will make documenting my latest project, remaking the first dungeon of The Legend of Zelda for the NES in the Godot game engine!”

As you can guess, fellow fans were thrilled to see a faithful remake and took to the comments to give support and tips.
“I IMMEDIATELY love this idea,” one comment read.
“Remakes and remasters have kinda relied on HD 3D rendered graphics, just kinda flexing the new graphic abilities. This is such a cool take on doing a remake.”

Another said: “The crazy thing about this is that I was literally thinking to myself, 'Wouldn't it be great if the first Zelda game was remade with the same hand drawn art style from the promotional art?' And then I saw your video, it's AMAZING! This looks so great, I’m so hyped for the next one.”
