Pokémon fans can get a shiny variant of a rare Pokémon for free this month, for those who’ve played Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
It’s been a weird week for Pokémon fans, as The Pokémon Company was hit with a massive data breach that exposed details on Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and what can only be described as bizarre fanfiction about some of the Pokémon.
Take a look at the trailer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A below
As you can imagine, fans were quick to examine the leaks and share their thoughts, mostly about the strange lore that’s been brought to light.

If you’re one of those fans and want to forget the horrible things you’ve seen in the leaks, you’ll be pleased to know there’s a new Pokémon distribution event for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
The event is for those who’ve linked the Pokémon Home app to their games, and if you haven’t done that already now’s the best time to do so.
Once that’s taken care you’ll be able to claim a Shiny Meloetta for use in your game, but there’s a catch, you’ll have to complete the Pokédex in your game.
This includes the Paldea, Kitakami and Blueberry Academy Pokédexes, which is a tough challenge but not impossible, especially if you’ve got a friend willing to do some trading with you.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet also released for the Nintendo Switch in 2022, so I’d imagine all the hardcore Pokémon fans will have caught them all by now anyway.
Once you’ve met the requirements, the Shiny Meloetta will appear in your Pokémon Home box, where you can transfer it for use in your game.
Worth noting this is also the first available version of the Shiny Meloetta in one of the games, so it’s well-worth the effort if you want to get yourself a complete collection.
