With the next Pokémon Presents showcase broadcasting later this week, eagle-eyed fans have spotted a sign that may mean a Pokémon Gold and Silver remake is on the cards.
Pokémon fans can rejoice to hear that the annual Pokémon Presents showcase is set to be broadcast on 27 February with the event aiming to show what is next for the future of the franchise. Scheduled to be live-streamed on the official Pokémon Youtube channel at 6am PT, it is just a few days to go. However, fans think they have already spotted something.
Although the docket for the showcase is yet to be confirmed, a story from Nintenduo may have just hinted at a potential Pokémon Gold and Silver cameo. This is the result of a recent short video posted on the official YouTube channel which contains a description mentioning the 1999 title.

"Tune in to our official YouTube channel at 6:00 a.m. PST on February 27th to view exciting Pokémon news in celebration of #PokemonDay 2024! See you there, Trainers!" reads the official video description. Alongside this announcement, Pokémon Gold and Silver is featured under the ‘Games’ field with an image of Pokémon Gold’s logo.
Although this is by no means confirmation that the game will be getting a remake, fans can only hope. As it stands, the original game is over 20 years old and considering they are often regarded as some of the most-loved entries in the franchise, it would be a shame not to see a modernisation.
However, if we are not set to get a Gold and Silver remake, the showcase could feature that the game coming to Nintendo Switch Online. If not that, a mere mention may be on the cards to celebrate the upcoming 25th anniversary in Japan.
Regardless of what happens, there is bound to be some exciting news when the Pokémon Presents showcase airs next Tuesday.
