Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! aren’t exactly the Pokémon franchise’s most popular entries, but you can’t deny that they’re charming.
Completing the Pokédex is fun, and I’ve always thought of the dual titles as being a great entry point for newcomers.
That being said, so too can I understand some of the, let’s say, mixed reception.

Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee deviated from the standard Pokémon formula, and that was always going to prove controversial when the OG formula is so special.
They essentially bridge the gap between Pokémon Go and the mainline games, launching at a time when Pokémon Go was in its heyday.
Let’s face it, Pokémon Go remains popular but it’s not quite the headliner it once was.
As such, it’s unlikely that we’ll see another Let’s Go entry land anytime soon, which is a shame for anyone who’s been crying out for Pokémon Gold and Silver remakes.

Pokémon Legends Z-A is next in line to launch in early 2025. Take a look at the game in action below.
While Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee took us back to Kanto, the next entries would’ve supposedly taken us back to Johto.
As I’m sure you know, Johto was the setting of Gold and Silver so while a ‘Let’s Go Johto’ style entry wouldn’t have been a like-for-like remake, it would’ve allowed us to revisit this locale and the particular Pokédexes of those games.

It’s a shame as while Gen 1 nostalgia is the most prominent, it’s far from being the only generation fans yearn to return to.
“I'm ready to cash in on Gen 2 nostalgia, ngl,” wrote Reddit user Trainer_Joey_.
“Imagine obtaining a ticket for the SS Anne that brings you to Johto,” daydreamed a wishful PMC-I3181OS387I5.
Others voiced that they’d rather receive a straightforward Gold and Silver remake with no Let’s Go mechanics which I can understand.

It just seems a shame to let Let’s Go dwindle when it held so much potential as a spin-off franchise.
But it seems that’s what’s being done.
