Pokémon fans are in dire need of a remake of the Gen II games, but they’ll settle for the originals made available on the Nintendo Switch…
Honestly it’s criminal that the Gen II Pokémon games aren’t available on the Nintendo Switch already, but if they were I’d imagine we’d have to pay for another subscription just to play them.
Perhaps the Nintendo Switch 2 will be a better console for Pokémon games, after all it will feature Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Fans were discussing the possibility of getting another remake similar to Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl or Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee but for the Gen II games, something many feel is unlikely to happen.

In a Reddit thread pondering the idea one fan said “Here's the thing. Let's Go was a Pokemon Go tie-in made to capitalise on how popular it was. As fun as I found it, I highly doubt we will see another one … Would it be cool? Yeah for sure.”
Another added “The Let’s Go games were good in most ways but I hated the forced motion control capturing. If they could make it in that art style without that mechanic I’d love that kind of remake over the BDSP style. Legends Celebii would be cool too.”
Finally one fan suggested “A Legends Johto would be my all time favorite for sure … I imagine something like a feudal Japan setting, much more focused in the old Johto lore, and a Kanto region post-game setting would be nice as well.”
While it would be cool to see The Pokémon Company revisit Johto, I can’t imagine it’d actually happen.

Besides, the Johto games peaked with Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver, they don’t need anymore work aside from a port to modern platforms…
