The next Pokémon game will take us back to a region we’ve already explored, but fans are hoping for a brand-new location in Gen 10.
Pokémon fans are patiently waiting for more news on the next game in the series, Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
See the teaser trailer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A below, it’s a good one.
The next game will presumably bring back the open-world formula from Pokémon Legends: Arceus but that’s not confirmed, with Mega Evolutions also being a rumoured returning feature.

What is confirmed is that the game will be set in Kalos, the region from Pokémon X & Y. While this works for the Legends games, fans are hoping the next proper Pokémon adventure, Gen 10, will be set in a brand-new location.
Fans have been pitching their ideas for where exactly a new game could be set in a Reddit thread, as the past few games have picked real-world locations but given them a Pokémon twist.
For example, Pokémon Sword & Shield was supposed to be the United Kingdom, whereas Pokémon Scarlet & Violet was Spain.
“A part of me thinks for Gen 10 and the 30th anniversary, they could go back to Japan but they could also do that with a Legends Kanto/Johto/Hoenn game too. I feel like Brazil is next,” said one fan.

Brazil would be a good shout, though another fan suggested Egypt, saying, “As long as we can stray from Europe for a bit because I feel like we need more variety in environments.”
Honestly, it could be anywhere, though personally I’d like to see somewhere like Mexico or perhaps Iceland get a Pokémon region.
For the time being though, all of that is in the distant future because as far as we’re aware, the only game in development at the moment is Pokémon Legends: Z-A which will see us return to the Kalos region.
