Pokémon Gen 10 leak leaves fans frustrated, and we can see why

Pokémon Gen 10 leak leaves fans frustrated, and we can see why

Not what we wanted

The next Pokémon games are already in trouble, as the latest leaks suggest the games will be brutally held back from their full potential.

Pokémon games in general have been a touchy subject recently, as fans have been increasingly disappointed in how the Nintendo Switch titles have been released.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet was pretty good all things considered, but it could have been more.

Fans are, of course, hoping the next batch of games is better, Pokémon Legends: Z-A and the Gen 10 games.

Many assumed these games would launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 which is still pending an announcement from Nintendo at the time of writing.

Unfortunately, this could be the furthest thing from the truth, as leaks from the Game Freak hacker that nabbed loads of potentially confidential data has reported the Gen 10 games will in-fact be developed for the OG Nintendo Switch.

The Gen 10 games are reportedly being developed under the codename “Gaia” for the Nintendo Switch, and an enhanced version is apparently in development as well for the Nintendo Switch 2 called “Super Gaia”.

It’s anyone’s guess as to whether these codenames mean anything, but my first thought was Gen 10 being set somewhere in the Pokémon world equivalent of Greece. That’s probably not the case though.

Either way, fans aren’t happy, as one perfectly put it by saying: “Have all the dev tools for Switch 2 for years, still make their games for the Switch 1. Game Freak…”

Another commenter speculates the Nintendo Switch “is not going to die until 2030”, and while that’s clearly an exaggeration, it’s probably got a few more years left in it despite the Nintendo Switch 2 quickly approaching.

Do take this with a pinch of salt as it could turn out to be untrue, hopefully so as well as it’d be so disappointing.
