So, we pretty much definitely know what day the Nintendo Switch 2 is going to be revealed. That’s right folks, we’ve reached full leak-ception - the reveals are getting revealed by the leakers now.
Thank you in advance to IGN’s Wesley Yin-Poole for collating all of the leaks into one place in their story!
It all started yesterday with a new video from well-known leaker Nate the Hate, who revealed that Nintendo will supposedly be dropping a hardware video for the Nintendo Switch 2 on 16 January, adding that a May or June release would be announced. Quick maths, that’s in less than two days.

Nate the Hate has earned a bit of a name for themselves over the past year by leaking and corroborating dozens of Nintendo Switch 2-related details, the majority of which have ended up being true.
Pokémon Legends Z-A is one game we know is coming this year.
Their word alone should probably be more than enough to solidify this leak’s credibility, but they’re not the only source on this one.

The Verge’s senior editor Tom Warren also stated yesterday that the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal should be coming sometime “this week”.
At this point, I think it’s more than fair to say that we’ll be seeing some official Nintendo Switch 2 info at some point in the next few days - however, said info might not be the sort of reveal many of you will have hoped for.
According to Nate the Hate, the hardware reveal for the Nintendo Switch 2 won’t actually feature any software-related details.
In short, that means that we won’t be getting any details regarding the sort of games the new system will have at launch. Supposedly a software reveal, in the form of a Nintendo Direct, will drop sometime in either February or March.

We’ll see you all back here on Thursday with some updates and, most likely, a trailer for Nintendo’s next system.
