In the style of ‘All Star’ by Smash Mouth, the rumours start coming and they don’t stop coming.
I hope you sang that, whether that be outloud or in your head.
I truly hope an official reveal of the Nintendo Switch’s successor is just around the corner, if only to calm the rumour mill which is spinning out of control.

At the recent CES convention, it appeared that we’d received our first look at the Nintendo Switch 2 after accessories producer Genki showcased their upcoming line of cases for the console, although Nintendo has since responded to the ‘leak’ calling the model used “unofficial”.
More recently, a French retail employee became the centre of attention, claiming that the console will cost €399, adding that pre-orders are ready to go live which includes a list of 25 games, one of those being a first-party exclusive teased to be a new Mario Kart entry.
Naturally, I have to urge you to take all of this with a pinch of salt.
It’s not the only launch line-up rumour doing the rounds though.

Leaker NateTheHate has also surfaced claiming that Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth will soon be released on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was voted GOTY by GAMINGbible’s very own readers.
According to NateTheHate, Remake will launch on those consoles this year, whilst Rebirth will follow in 2026.

Again, do take this with a pinch of salt but it sounds like a plausible claim. After all, we’ve known for quite some time that the Final Fantasy VII games are only timed PlayStation 5 exclusives.
This is a very ambitious series, offering enormous and rich open worlds which certainly bodes well for the Nintendo Switch 2’s capabilities, if this rumour is true, of course.
In our review of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, GAMINGbible’s Dan Lipscombe wrote, “As I rolled the credits, I realised this was exactly the game I’ve wanted to play since I was 17 years old, it’s playing one of my favourite games all over again, experiencing everything fresh - and loving it just as much as I did over two decades ago.”
Let’s hope that some official confirmation from Square Enix lands soon.

Until then, my friends, remain dubious.
