Another day, another discussion about the Nintendo Switch 2, gaming’s white whale. We know it’s coming soon, but Nintendo is holding the cards close.
What we do know is that Nintendo is happy to hold off from launching the console for a while, causing it to debut later than we anticipated, and there’s good reason.
Nintendo has recently ended support for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp by releasing a full edition to be paid for
The reason is, to gather enough parts to build the console and have enough to go around.

Essentially, ensuring that there isn’t a shortage issue much like we saw with the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X.
Both of those console were out of stock fast and, of course, in stepped the scalpers who ramped up prices.
This all comes from a user on FamiBoards who appears to have some inside information.
The user, RandomlyRandom67 claims that manufacture didn’t start in August 2024 as previously thought with Nintendo stockpiling parts before they begin production.

When reported on Reddit, fans were understanding and see a lot of wisdom in waiting until the time is right.
“That seems fair to me! I would rather a company makes sure a launch like this goes smoothly rather than rush things,” says rabbit395.
Redditor leviathab13186 has an idea of how this pays out, “They will most likely announce it late Feb/early March to release after summer and just give us little teasers of what to expect every month leading up to launch.”
Of course, nothing is official and the source above could very well be a chancer, so we should take any information with a pinch of salt.

However, Nintendo has been vocal in the past on scalpers and will hope to negate any effect they may have on supplying fans.
Hopefully, we’ll see some movement from Nintendo soon and perhaps get an announcement before the end of the year.
